Doki Doki Literature Club is a free game available on Steam for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Now the cover might give you the wrong clue about the game because the game is just opposite of what it tries to show you. The game's cute cover is just a clickbait to a terrific horror game just a click away.
One of the hardest things for me in games is choices. And this game itself is filled with many choices that cost you lives of your dearest. The game starts off with any other Japanese visual novel. The game has Japanese characters (read: girls) who are supposed to be your neighbor, an old classmate, a cute little girl who loves to make cupcakes and a shy girl who surprisingly loves horror stories and novels.
Now, what's terrific in that? It all starts when your childhood friend suicides. And I don't know if that can be stopped. Then your other friends. Except for Monika. You can not "kill" her without deleting her files.
I won't be displaying the death scenes because they would be very disturbing to the reader. But if you want to view them, then you can do so from Youtube.
I warn you to not play it unless you are big enough to not vomit during such scenes of the game.
