Clash Of Clans is a way too popular Android game that can be found in any youngster's phone. The game is actually all about making a great base and attack other players to make it to the top of the leaderboard. The game currently has two villages and you get to play the new Clan Games event in which you can get Magic Items and gems and resources as rewards.
If you are new to Clash Of Clans and want to excel in it, you must go with these steps:
Be Patient And Save Your Gems
Is your friend having a better Town Hall? Or a Hero? Or Dark Barracks? You may want to spend gems to complete an ongoing building. Or maybe you want to fill your gold or elixir storage by using gems. But don't do that. Save your gems. That's very important even if you won't understand its value from the first gameplay. Also, you can get more builders with the use of gems.
Keep your defense at the best
You obviously won't be playing CoC all night and all day because that's gonna harm you very badly. So you need to create a good defense so that other players don't decrease the number of your trophies. So make up a good base for defense. Although there are many base layouts present on the web, I recommend you not to copy those. Simply because the other player must have seen such a base before you and knows the correct strategy to crush that base with a complete 3-star win. So make your own base layout. I'd recommend keeping mortars, double-cannons, and air defense near the center of your base. Also, upgrade the walls present at the outer side to slow down enemies who can't jump. Put traps in places where the attacker won't expect you to. Keep them at the inner sides.
Pick Targets Right For You
When you are on a raid or in a war, choose the player you can attack. Don't attack someone whom you can score not even a star.
If you are on a raid and looking for resources, go for it only if you are sure of getting at least one star by either 50% destruction or destroying the town hall. This way you would always get some trophies and a good amount of resources. If you are looking for getting more trophies, attack the player who has same town hall as yours unless the base seems to be really easy for you.
When on war, keep in mind that you have 2 attacks and use them wisely. First, send a small troop like a goblin to check which troops are in the Clan Castle and then use Lightning Spell on that group or do a Dragon attack on them. Be sure to bring the CC troops as far from the range of other defense objects as you can. Then try to find a place from where you can easily get close to the Town Hall to get a star.
Utilize Your Clan Castle Troops
You can ask for troops once you have the Clan Castle rebuilt. Now, you must use your CC troops wisely. If you want CC troops to defend your base, then you may ask for Dragon or if you don't have enough space, go and ask for Wizard or Giants. During attacks, use your CC troops when you see that your troops are in danger. This way you can make sure that CC troops are being utilized.
Lightning Spell To Destroy Mortars
You thought Lightning Spell is useless? Think again because if you keep on upgrading it, you will be able to use it to destroy the mortars which have more range than most of the other defense buildings. You can use it to destroy even a Town Hall! Well, I won't recommend you to do that but just in case you were curious... Anyway, back on to the topic, you may want to use it on Air Defense and others that players often require keeping near the center of their base.
Try Your Best To Save Your Town Hall
This one is very important because a Town Hall destroyed means a star received by the attacker. You must place your Town Hall at the center and surround it with traps, mortars, and walls.
